We are excited to begin offering Speech and Language Therapy at The Missing Peace.  Speech and language development is the foundation for communication skills and is a crucial part of social interactions and academic success. Our speech and language therapy sessions address the individualized needs of children facing communication challenges.

WHAT IS A SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST?

A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), often called a Speech Therapist, is a professional who specializes in all things communication. A SLP can work with individuals of all ages, ranging from babies to adults. Our certified Speech-Language Pathologists at The Missing Peace works to evaluate and treat children with a variety of speech and language related disorders.

EVALUATIONS AND TREATMENT

The Missing Peace offers our client’s evaluations utilizing a variety of clinical tools to identify your child’s strengths and areas of concern. An evaluation may include observations, direct interaction with a child to gauge their current levels and abilities, and parent input.

At The Missing Peace, we offer evaluations and individualized treatment approaches for articulation and phonological processes, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, expressive and receptive language, pragmatic language, voice, and fluency/stuttering.

SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST WORK WITH?

Our Speech-Language Pathologists work with children and adolescents with speech and language difficulties including, but not limited to, children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, articulation disorders, phonological disorders, receptive and expressive language disorders, pragmatic language disorders, stuttering disorders, voice disorders, and cognitive-communication disorders.

At The Missing Peace, we believe meeting a child where they’re at is a great way to facilitate speech and language skills in a natural environment. We provide speech and language therapy services in our Miami Shores Center, in your child’s school setting, and even in the comfort of your own home.

Our Speech-Language Pathologists have a vast knowledge of how parents, teachers, and caregivers can implement therapy approaches everyday at home and in the academic setting.
